Sew-Wah Tay, PhD -- President
Dr. Tay founded Libra Medical Inc. in January 2007 after 20 years of experience in the medical device industry. Prior to starting Libra Medical she was Vice-President of Regulatory and Clinical Affairs at American Medical Systems (AMS) where she effectively grew and restructured the departments to meet the needs of AMS growing business. She also served as Vice-President of Regulatory, Quality and Clinical Affairs at Velocimed Inc. – a start-up company in interventional cardiology that was acquired by St. Jude Medical and as Vice-President of Regulatory Affairs, Clinical and Quality at Survivalink, another start-up company that developed automated external defibrillators that was later acquired by Cardiac Science. In addition Dr. Tay served in various capacities in R&D and Clinical Affairs at St. Jude Medical, Scimed/Boston Scientific, and Guidant/Boston Scientific. Dr. Tay holds a B.S. in Food Science and Technology from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia. She holds an MS in Chemical Engineering, an MS in Food Science, and a PhD in the interdisciplinary area of Biomaterials, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
David Hahn, BSc -- CTO
Mr. Hahn has over 25 years of software development experience, with a concentration for the last six years in the medical device industry. As a technology consultant, Mr. Hahn has developed solutions in the retail, transportation and insurance industries. Prior to joining Libra Medical, he was at American Medical Systems (AMS) as a Senior Clinical Data Manager from 2006 to 2007, supporting both Male and Female Division study teams. From August 2001 to December 2005 he worked as a consultant, then as Technology Integration Manager at Boston Scientific in the Cardiovascular Division. In that role Mr. Hahn was responsible for selection, development and implementation of clinical trial monitoring, data management, and safety systems. During his tenure, he was the primary author of a study management system still in use, as well as the integration of data management solutions with other periphery systems. He has been involved in the IT Department with two other start-up companies in the 1990s. Mr. Hahn holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire.
